Ty the Tasmanian Tiger; PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube ve Microsoft Windows için piyasaya sürülmüş bir platform video oyunudur. Krome Studios tarafından geliştirilen ve EA Games tarafından yayınlanan oyun, Kuzey Amerika'da 10 Eylül 2002'de, PAL bölgelerinde ise 22 Kasım 2002'de çıkış yapmıştır. Windows sürümü ise Krome Studios tarafından yayınlanmış ve 13 Aralık 2016'da Steam üzerinden dünya genelinde erişime açılmıştır. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger serisinin ilk oyunu olan yapım, kurgusal bir Avustralya adasında geçmektedir ve seriye adını veren Ty karakterinin, beş dağınık tılsımı bulmak ve dünya hakimiyeti planları yapan bir tepeli deve kuşu (cassowary) olan serinin antagonisti Boss Cass tarafından "the Dreaming" adlı alternatif bir boyuta hapsedilen ailesini kurtarmak için bir makineye güç sağlayacak "Thunder Eggs"leri arayışını konu alır. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger'ın geliştirilme süreci 2000 yılında Krome Studios'tan beş geliştirici ile başlamış, daha sonra geliştirici ekip 45 kişiye çıkarılmıştır. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a platform video game released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube and Microsoft Windows. It was developed by Krome Studios and published by EA Games, released in North America on September 10, 2002 and later released in PAL regions on November 22, 2002. The Windows version was published by Krome Studios and released worldwide via Steam on December 13, 2016. The first installment in the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series, the game is set on a fictional Australian island and follows the titular character Ty as he searches for "Thunder Eggs" to power a machine to locate five scattered talismans and free his family, who are trapped in an alternate realm known as "the Dreaming" by the series antagonist, Boss Cass, a cassowary plotting world domination. Development of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger began in 2000 with five developers from Krome Studios. The development team was later expanded to 45 people. For the levels in the game, the developers drew inspiration from the Australian landscapes. The game was revealed in 2002 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo convention in Los Angeles, California. Ty the Tasmanian Tiger received positive reviews from critics, most of whom praised the gameplay and graphics and drew favorable comparisons to the Spyro series. The game sold over one million copies worldwide. Three sequels were produced, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan and Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4.
