Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Chaos Rising, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II'nin ikinci genişleme paketidir. Yeni karakterler olan Chaos Space Marines'i sunar ve diğer tüm ırklara yeni birimler ekler. Oyun, Aurelia'da bulunan Blood Ravens'ın görev alanında geçmektedir. Görünüşe göre Aurelia, çok uzun zaman önce Warp'a kaybedilmişti ancak şimdi yeniden ortaya çıktı. Dawn of War II'deki olayların üzerinden 10 yıl geçti; Tyranid istilası çoktan püskürtüldü ve önceki oyundaki Blood Raven kahramanlarının yanı sıra Chaos Lord Eliphas, Derona ve Vandis de geri döndü. Oyun, ilk kez Corruption System'ı (Yozlaşma Sistemi) tanıttı. Görevler sırasındaki çoklu hedefler aracılığıyla oyuncu, ne kadar yozlaşmak istediğine karar verir. Aşırı yozlaşma, Chaos'a dönüşmeye ve bu da Imperium of Man'e ihanet etmeye yol açacaktır. Bu seçim, oyunun birkaç farklı sonundan birini etkileyecektir. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Chaos Rising is the second expansion of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II. It offers new characters Chaos Space Marines and adds new units to all other races. The game takes place in the Blood Ravens work which is in Aurelia. It seems, that Aurelia was lost to the Warp a long time ago, but now it has reappeared. 10 years have passed since the events of Dawn of War II, in invasion of Tyranid is already defeated and Blood Raven heroes from the previous game have returned as well as Chaos Lord Eliphas, Derona and Vandis. The game for the first time presented the Corruption System. Through multiple objectives during missions, player decides how much corrupted he wants to be. Too much corruption will lead into becoming Chaos, which will lead into betraying the Imperium of man. This choice will affect one of the several games’ ending. Also, Chaos Rising offers two new environments for players to explore. Three environments from the previous game didn’t disappear so with Chaos Rising players have an opportunity to explore five different locations.
